Isansys Lifecare recently announced the world’s first commercially available, wireless cardiac monitor which can provide low cost continuous ECG heart monitoring. This device will allow cardiac patients to be continuously monitored so that when a problem is detected, it will usually be easier to treat, avoiding life-threatening and costly emergency room trips.

Most of the costly elements of the monitor have been made to be recyclable to reduce costs.  The device resembles a lightweight bandage strip which adheres to a patient’s body and analyzes the ECG signal of every heartbeat and can detect problems quickly.

Because 1 in 3 cardiac patients who are released from intensive care suffer some type of relapse after discharge, there is a need for this type of device to save lives and lower costs.
